Editorial Standards

These standards apply to everything published under News, Politics, Business, World, and Technology. Opinion content follows a separate, clearly labelled process described below.

Sourcing

We attribute claims to named sources wherever possible. Where a source requests anonymity, an editor independently verifies the source's identity and reliability before publication, and the story discloses why anonymity was granted.

Fact-checking

Every story is checked by an editor other than the reporter before it publishes. Numerical claims, quotes, and attributions are verified against original documents or recordings wherever they exist.

Corrections

When we get something wrong, we fix it and say so. Corrections are logged on our corrections page with the date, the article affected, and what changed. We do not silently edit published stories to correct factual errors.

Separating news and opinion

Opinion and analysis pieces are labelled as such in the section tag and byline. They represent the views of the named contributor, not the Voyastra newsroom, and are edited for argument and clarity rather than for institutional neutrality.

Advertising

Advertising is visually distinguished from editorial content and is never written or influenced by the newsroom. Advertisers do not receive advance or preferential review of coverage.

Use of AI tools

Where AI tools assist with research, transcription, or drafting, an editor verifies the output against original sources and takes full responsibility for the final published work. AI tools are not used to fabricate quotes, sources, or statistics, and are not a substitute for reporting.

No guaranteed outcomes

We don't publish guaranteed-outcome claims, fabricated statistics, or testimonials presented as fact. If a claim can't be verified, we say so or we don't run it.
